Student Recognition

Academic All-Stars and Stars
Academic All-Stars (all A’s) and Academic Stars (A’s and B’s or B’s) are recognized in several ways. They are recognized at our Success Day ceremonies each semester. Coupons from local eating and recreational facilities are also given to deserving students.

Shining Stars

Long Hill supports the Cumberland County Schools Character Education shining stars program. The eight calendar concepts are encouraged and promoted. Each class recognizes a representative monthly with a pencil and pencil holder certificate.  We are proud to support the efforts that were founded by our former superintendent, Dr. John R. Griffin, Jr.

 Terrific Kids
The Terrific Kids Program is sponsored by the Fayetteville Kiwanis Club. It is designed for those students who are trying hard to improve but are not necessarily the “high achievers”. Teachers or classmates can choose the TK of the month for their class. The objectives are to build positive attitudes, develop self-esteem, recognize and encourage students, and improve self-discipline. When selected, each TK will have his/her photograph displayed on the TK bulletin board. This selection will be based upon the following: academic improvement, acceptable attendance, self-discipline, positive attitudes, sharing and caring, respect for the rights of others, leadership motivation, and independent thinking.
