2018-2019 Civic Oration Contest

5th graders at LHES participated in the Modern Woodmen of America school speech contest Friday.  They created speeches that were 3-5 minutes long around the topic, “Challenges Youth Face”.  The first place winner was Keira L., 2nd place winner was Kaylen S., and 3rd place winner was Kacie B.  They all did a fantastic job!  Keira and Kaylen will move on to the county level to compete against other 5th graders on April 9.

DAR Essay

Dilni K. won first place among 5th graders in the DAR Essay Contest for the Liberty Point Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Organization.  The topic was about the passing of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution which granted women the right to vote and participate in the political process.

        
2018-2019 All County Chorus

Congratulations Alexis P., Alaina J., Destiny J., Cheyenne B., Nevaeh R., and Kerilynn M. for representing Long Hill Elementary School at the 2018-2019 All County Chorus.  The All-County Chorus has over 300 students from schools across the county. Their performance was on Saturday, February 16th, at the Cumberland County Crown Theater.
